Experience

Dr Swaminathan graduated from the National University of Singapore in 1982. He further attained his Fellowship from the Royal College of Surgeons in Edinburgh, specializing in General Surgery, in the year 1988.  

He then received his HMDP ( Health Manpower Development Plan) award in Urology and went for higher training in London, U.K.

He did both general and special urology, concentrating on stone disease and Prostate diseases. He acquired specialty interest in male infertility as well.  

He has extensive experience in General Surgery, including minimally invasive surgery, as well as his special interest in Urology.

Dr Swami has also done basic research on adhesion formation in animals, and has published in Peer-reviewed journals. 

Dr Swami is currently conducting his private practice in Gleneagles Hospital and Parkway East Hospital.  

He is the former Chairman of the Chapter of General Surgeons, College of Surgeons, Singapore and  Censor with the Academy of Medicine, Singapore, as well as a council
member of the college of Surgeons. In addition, he does voluntary work as a medical counselor.

Dr Swami has also been a clinical tutor with National University of Singapore and taught undergraduates as well as post-graduates. He has given talks and lectures, including journal updates, and has also been involved in the organization of hi scientific meetings and hospital seminars. He attends overseas congresses regularly and is interested in bringing new technology that has been tested and proven.
